The COVID-19 crisis is redefining our future as it impacts wellness and the social, professional and business aspects of lives and the communities we serve. NAHSE leaders, members, and employees remain committed to the Association’s mission while providing the highest level of service. We are actively monitoring the crisis and are committed to providing national leadership and resources as we support each other through this unprecedented time.  Our goal is to ensure maximum support to our members, transparency, and clarity in sharing decisions regarding policy updates, upcoming activities, and other critical information.  NAHSE latest updates are: Headquarters staff is working remotely. All NAHSE meetings will be held in a virtual format until further notice. The NAHSE Endowment Committee is guiding our financial sustainability. The C-Suite Leadership Experience is postponed until 2021. The 35th Annual NAHSE Education Conference remains scheduled for October 7 - 9, 2020 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.   Recognizing that the impact of the COVID-19 crisis requires changes in the ways we live, NAHSE’s primary focus at this time is to mobilize our efforts to provide support to our members. NAHSE recommends the following actions in line with best practices and our Association mission: Self-care: Combined with following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov), we encourage you to keep a positive attitude and structured routines (to the extent possible) during this uncertain time. Also: Be intentional about choosing facts over fear. Engage in virtual exercise and workouts Eat healthy Spend time outside (using appropriate social distancing, of course).   Leadership: NAHSE recommends using timely preparation, communication, and resiliency as vital crisis management strategies. We encourage chapter leaders and members to practice connectedness using technology platforms such as GroupMe, ZOOM, etc. These technology platforms offer efficient ways to connect for meetings, continuous learning opportunities, networking, and communicating with other members.  Advocacy and Programming: Despite the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, NAHSE steadfastly continues to lead the way in advancing and developing Black healthcare leaders and elevating the quality of healthcare services to minority and under-served communities. We encourage chapters to explore innovative advocacy and programming strategies and tactics, and engage with partnering organizations for implementing community-based projects that support frontline healthcare workers.  The NAHSE Board of Directors and staff urge you to share your ideas with us at nahsehq@nahse.org so we can share best practices and support your efforts.    Many thanks to the Executive Committee, chapter leaders, and members for their contributions during this unprecedented time. We wish all good health and safety.   ...

We hope this email finds you safe and healthy.  We recognize the stress of this uncertain time, and want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you, your families, your institutions, and your communities.    Out of an abundance of caution, and in consideration of the many competing priorities – now, and in the months to come – with which we are all faced, NAHSE governance and operational leadership has decided to postpone the C-Suite Leadership Experience until May, 2021. Committed sponsors and registered participants will be contacted individually.   Know that as we continuously monitor the COVID-19 situation, we believe, at this time, that our 35th Annual Educational Conference will still take place October 7 – 9th at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.    Please be safe, wise, calm, and compliant during this challenging time in our world.   Thanks, Stephanie...
