Health Leaders Case Challenge

 The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) and the National Medical Association (NMA) are announcing an exciting opportunity for health professionals and physicians to enhance analytical, rhetoric and teambuilding skills through an intensive case analysis and skill building session.  Judges include a diverse group of senior healthcare leaders.


Participants must be registered for the 2016 Annual Educational Conference.

Eligibility criteria (participant only required to meet one of three):

  • A previous NAHSE case competition participant (2011-2015) or
  • A master’s prepared early careerist with no more than five years of healthcare experience or
  • A current or aspiring physician executive


Prospective participants need to apply individually by sending a current resume to The application deadline is September 1, 2016.  We will host two informational conference calls for selected participants on September 13th & 20th.

Members of the winning team will receive a tailored professional development to include executive coaching sessions.

Tuesday, October 11, 2016
Case Challenge Introduction (10am – 11am):

  • Participants randomly assigned to teams
  • Teams analyze case and prepare their case challenge response overnight
  • The case challenge response includes a 15-minute presentation with a 5-minute question and answer session


Wednesday, October 12, 2016
Case Challenge Presentations:

  • Case development
  • Submit final case (12:00pm)
  • Case Presentations (3:00 – 5:00pm) – Preliminary Round and Final Round
  • Panel discussion and debriefing session (5:00 – 6:00pm)
